Nomad exists to develop, amplify, and protect storytellers working in film and television.

Every creator in the Nomad family benefits from a custom strategy rooted in autonomy, growth, and global awareness.

By prioritizing authenticity, courage, and simplicity, artists will strengthen their voice, attain fulfillment, and secure financial independence.

During his time at CAA, Nomad founder Jay Baker mastered the craft of championing original voices within an evolving media landscape.

Jay’s many accomplishments include packaging the academy award-winning film Moonlight, as well as Barry Jenkins’ works If Beale Street Could Talk and Underground Railroad. Other films for which Baker was instrumental include the Pablo Larrain biopics Jackie and Spencer, Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster, Felix van Groeningen’s Beautiful Boy, and Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari

Baker guided the careers of iconic filmmakers Wong Kar Wai and Oliver Stone, while developing next generation storytellers such as Christina Hodson, J Blakeson, Joe Robert Cole, Yann Demange, Will Beall, JD Dillard, Joby Harold, and Duncan Jones. He also represented documentarians Davis Guggenheim and Chris Smith, as well as musicians Thom Yorke and Danny Elfman.

Nomad is based in Malibu, California.
